Why do we need to teach music in schools? What are the benefits of music education? How can we advocate music education?

First of all, music classes greatly contribute to the development of creativity. Music consists of musical symbols, so people need to have creativity to play, listen to, and respond to the music.

Also, students will have a better understanding toward diverse cultures through music programs. Music provides students with another mode of communication-one which transcends all ages. People can easily understand thoughts, ideas, and feelings of other cultures through music, which goes beyond verbal language and written documents.

Finally, music education provides a deeper understanding of music. Through music classes, students would have hands-on experiences, which would help students develop musical understanding and sensitivity.
